Last year, the Slow Money Institute launched beetcoin.org, aggregating small donations for use as matching grants to local groups that make 0% loans to organic farms and local food businesses.  Crowdfunding is one thing  Crypto, another.  But what about local capacity building and community resilience?  What about a new economic story that brings money back down to earth?  That's where beetcoin comes in--linking the breadth of the internet to the power of local decision-making and rooted, literally and metaphorically, in the soil of a restorative economy. This session offers a wonderful opportunity to look up close and personal at the design and emergence of the world's first non-crypto, non-currency.
