WInona LaDuke is Anishinaabe, a farmer, writer, and economist who has worked for decades on the restoration of Indigenous seed and food varieties as well as the caretaking of land through Indigenous agriculture. Most recently, working with Anishinaabe Agriculture and Winona's Hemp, she's been working with Fiber Hemp- what she calls, the New Green Revolution. Work on transforming fiber hemp for textiles is the focus of her work, including in, the work in hemp building materials, bioremediation, and the creation of an Indigenous Hemp and Cannabis Farmers Cooperative. She lives and works on the White Earth reservation and in the l855 territory of Akiing, northern Minnesota. She is the author of six books, including To Be A Water Protector.
