Description

For the past dozen years, since Inquiries into the Nature of Slow Money: Investing as if Food, Farms and Fertility Mattered came out, Woody Tasch has been the steward of a small, beautiful movement.  More than $80 million has flowed to almost 1000 small organic farms and local food businesses via volunteer-led activities in dozens of communities.  And now there's Beetcoin, in tandem with local nonprofit SOIL groups that make 0% loans.  Woody has long been a leader in social finance and was named one of "25 Visionaries Who Are Changing Your World" by Utne Reader.  He will share his latest thoughts on food, money, nonviolence and systemic change.  And who knows. . .there might even be a little poetry.  Following his remarks, Woody will be joined on stage by Martin Ping, Executive Director of Hawthorne Valley and Sheila Foster, Executive Director of the Biodynamic Demeter Alliance for conversation and audience questions.
