Martin Ping is the CEO of Hawthorne Valley Association, a not-for-profit working to renew soil, society and self through the integration of agriculture, education and art on a 900-acre Biodynamic farm. Hawthorne Valley has provided Martin the opportunity to weave together his reverence for nature, love of community, and interest in food for nearly 40 years. Martin has served as CEO since 2003. He also teaches economics at Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School. He is co-founder of Place Corps, is a founding member of Slow Money, and is co-founder and storyteller for The Magical Puppet Tree. Martin has been a member of U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand’s Agricultural Advisory Group, has served on the boards of several not-for-profit organizations, and is most grateful in his role as Poppy to his three grandchildren.
