The Agriculture Course was founded through a series of lectures given by Rudolf Steiner in Koberwitz, Silesia, in June 1924, a very short time before the end of his life. They were based upon his lifelong work in Spiritual Science, and drew upon insights into the relationship between spirit and matter. Against many odds, and despite many disagreements amongst the founding farmers, an experimental circle was formed to test the methods he proposed. Within only a few years, a clearly defined method had been developed, and the Demeter Trademark was introduced. Today, we have to make sure we keep the connection to the original impulse alive, to go forwards with strength into the next 100 years.
