Harald is a Biodynamic farmer who trained on BD farms in Germany before moving to Sacramento, California in 1983. There he created Raphael Garden at Rudolf Steiner College, which he tended for 30 years. In his first years here, he focused extensively on growing medicinal herbs. Later, his work included running a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture project), training apprentices and making BD preparations, which he distributes to BD farmers of northern California. Healing and education are two strong pillars in his work, through which he serves both the soil and the community. He has taught many courses in biodynamics at RSC, and offered a comprehensive training to nearly 100 farm apprentices. Now retired from active farming, he travels widely, teaching and consulting wherever he is needed in the world.
